One of the joys of being a parent is watching your child grow into an independent person.
The process can be heartwarming as you see your child make new friends and learn about life in general.
One such example is when a child turns twelve years old.

After the holidays, his family gave him money so he could buy food and care for his new pet.
Matthew is an excellent big brother to Daisy, his puppy.
He takes good care of her, feeds her, brushes her hair and makes sure she's healthy.
In return, Daisy loves giving kisses to Matthew's face and biting his fingers when he picks her up.
My nephew Matthew is almost 9 years old.
He has a lot of energy and is full of happiness most of the time.
He loves to eat, play with his toys and watch movies on his iPad.
He also has a puppy named Daisy that he adores.
Each year for his birthday, Matthew gets something new to make him even more happy.
I thought it would be fun to share with everyone some of Matthew's birthday gifts and what he did with them.
After Christmas, Matthew got another gift he was very excited about- an iPad! He immediately downloaded all of his favorite apps and started playing games late into the night.
Each day he uses his iPad to go to school, meet with family or do chores- which allows him access to thousands of apps.
He's since taught himself how to use different apps like Google Maps, Twitter and Wikipedia as well as email, calendar, notes and more.
Matthew is an intelligent young man with a bright future ahead of him.
His new iPad helps him stay focused on his goals; it makes him happy every day as he pursues his interests.
My nephew Matthew is an outgoing 9-year-old who loves life and is always happy.
His birthday gifts consist of something new every year that allows him to learn more about technology and take care of his pet dog, Daisy.
